Lisa DeStefano, president of DeStefano Architects on High Street, is in the unique position of both owning a downtown business and designing some of the buildings that are home to many other downtown businesses.

A Portsmouth native, she studied at the Boston Architectural Center and has run her own firm for eight years. She has worked on projects all over the Seacoast, and downtown, has her imprimatur on buildings like 100 Market Street, 28 Deer St., and a few that are in process, like the twin to 28 Deer, the Porter Street Townhouses - set to break ground this month - and the condominiums proposed for the former Pier II Restaurant. DeStefano says she?s got another six projects in the works that are about to go before the city's Historic District Commission.
